A method is described, to manage media resource providing a service to be used by an application requesting a particular set of services, comprising the steps of:
1. receiving service request form application comprising information about the set of services required by set application
2. determining at least one media resource by comparing the requested set of services with the services provided by the available media resources
3. providing media resource information comprising at least information about the determined media resource to said application.
