An followup ... recently some have shortened the time to release movies for home viewing with angry reactions from some in Hollywood and many theater operators ... http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/story?section=news/consumer&id=8087721 ... this is pretty recent, but given the agnry reaction, I think it may be unlikely we find the existence of business model in which the movie gets distributed to home/theaters simultaneously together with a discount for home viewers to see it again at a theater. For what it's worth, there is an added limitation in the claims at issue ... "andwherein the kiosk is further configured such that responsive to obtaining payment for the given movie, the kiosk issues an incentive to the user that enables the user to obtain a ticket to view the given movie in a movie theatre at a reduced price" which seems to be carried through all the claims.

A few years ago, IFC Entertainment entered into an agreement with Comcast to deliver first run independent films the same day they hit theaters.
