I think one of the nice benefits is a step forward in preventative healthcare which is cheaper and more effective than the current method mindset of treatment in later stages of an individual's life. It is also nice that the inventor included data protection from insurers.2

This could also be valuable for assisting recovering addicts in monitoring behavior. I foresee potential law enforcement applications if courts could use this for drunk drivers to monitor their alcohol intake, but this would bring up a whole other set of legal implications. 1

This technology seems to have widespread applications. It could be extremely valuable for a more robust online health care system. It can also be used for quick health checks on the go via biometric scanning devices in public areas, or perhaps on a personal computer.
