Collecting of IP addresses and dropping cookies on visitors have long been done by e-commerce websites for target advertising, traditionally through website visits. I am not sure how novel it is to target advertise through tracking online transactions (since the purchase will require a visit to that website anyway). Although if this patent suggest tracking the user's shopping pattern, it'll be interesting to see how it can "predict" what the user will want to buy next.Sammy Lee (about 2 years ago)
