Companies have always had a difficult time tracking just how affective their marketing strategies are. In terms of the affect on brand image, this PA would not be helpful. This seems like an awesome idea. The idea of closing the loop between online activities and offline purchases is that a customer profile is built and data such as that customer's online activity is stored as part of that profile. Credit card transactions are also stored as part of the profile. Therefore advertisers can see if a search for a product online or an online advertisement actually leads the customer to go to a physical brick and mortar store and purchase the product.
