This invention seems very similar to Google's "Safe Browsing" tool. However, it appears that Google's tool was developed some time around 2007. Any thoughts?

This idea is great since social network sites are growing and are being extensively used by lots of minors. However, it seems like the only advantage of this new invention is that it scans the links without the need for installing new virus softwares. However, there is a phishing filter on Internet Explorer 7 already, notifying users that the link you are trying to access contains "malicious" contents. So, I'm not sure if this idea has been already used or not.

This technology has incredible use for filtering content for minors. I wonder if internet providers such as AOL already has a parental controls system that filters content similar to these patent.

I think this a great idea! However, there is still a lot work that needs to go into this.

I like the idea, and had no clue about this problem. I think it needs a little more usefulness and the scan needs to be real tiime

I agree with the real time scanning. However, I have to say that I do find it very useful but the structural bone of the software still needs a lot of development. Usually these type of inventions are very challenging to create but with the right resources and effort, this will become very innovative and useful for the average web user.

This seems useful, but it says that the invention would not do any real-time scan of web content, in this case the user is still vulnerable to unnecessary third party content on the web page. So, even with this tool, the user is not completely protected from an attacker who is trying to manipulate them into viewing certain content on a page and hence this does not seem more effective than regular malware protection software. This invention does have an advantage over malware protection software of not needing to be upgraded for the latest version or being disabled.
