Regarding Claim 00001 ibmer, BPEL, BPMN, FDML, Process Portal, Filenet, Message Broker - there are many UI drawing systems (call them flow charts, process diagrams, workflows, activity diagrams, interaction diagrams) that can annotate states, events, data transformation, automated processing, human processing, KPIs, security, escalations, etc. - and - generate a runtime version of the UI picture that executes the drawing, as a single workflow, as a chain of workflows, as a hiearchy of workflows, etc. Case Management is not special to these approaches, although several have implemented case management in DOJ/DOD.
