Published US patent application disclosing insecticidal, herbicidal, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal applications of various plant essential oils, specifically pine needle oil and derivative oils of Thujopsis dolabrata. The pine oils are not explicitly claimed, however, Chamaecyparis obtusa essential oil is claimed as is Hiba essential oil, which is a derivative of Thujopsis dolabrata. Thujopsis and Chamaecyparis oils are claimed in the current patent application under review.

This is a dissertation-like document apparently produced as a final report for a postdoctoral fellowship. As part of the study, the author evaluated plants in Pakistan and Japan that have allelopathic effects, i.e. natural herbicidal effects. Two of the plants studied that appear to have high value are in the family Cupressaceae claimed in this patent.
