A method for dynamically serving ads to a client device in connection with the operation of an executable program, the method comprising:receiving, at a server, an ad request associated with a device fingerprint that uniquely identifies the client device, the ad request comprising information relating to any one or more of the client device, a user operating the client device and an executable program running on the client device;

selecting one or more ads based at least in part on the device fingerprint and the ad request; and

transmitting ad rendering data to cause the one or more ads to be displayed at the client device.

The reference discloses advertising based on the use of profiles of devices used to access the internet. Note that the publication date is after the filing date of the subject app, but the provisional and filing date of the reference is well before - this maybe useful prior art under 35 USC 102e
