Prior Art Reference 853 The prior art describes the method of securely distributing a digital content by dividing a unit of digital content into at least first and second portions (as annotated in the prior art), different from the method described in the patent application. If it can be found that the method provided in the prior art gives better efficiency and bettery security in delivering the digital media, it could be a good research material.

The method described in prior art and patent application also differs in that one doesn't use flash drive but the other one does. The patent application deals with completely different means of securely delivering digital media using flash drive, which is done mostly through identifying different parameters (ex. VID, PID) defined in different systems.

Regarding Claim 00003 -
Sounds decently vague - plenty of drives exist with microcontrollers that mitigate data exchange.

This person goes on so much - about the [automatic machine executable instruction set], the prevention or partial prevention running it, the running of it, etc - without actualy explaining what it does or how it might prevent. Nowhere is encryption mentioned, so how is this data kept secure? Something regarding the memory being "read only" was mentioned, but I don't even think they said anything close to how this microcontroller would write this secure data to this "read only" section.

They are using controller module and memory module for this flash drive but I think secure delivery can be done with regular flash drive using software and encryption.

I think your comment significantly lacks details. This particular patent is not about the regular flash drives we buy and use in our daily lives, but about a flash device coupled with an external device to read and execute digital data, serving basic input output system. This particular patent argues more about the hardware aspects of processing certain digital data, not about software aspects. What particular software implementation are you talking about and what do you mean by "encryption"?

I'm not sure about the extent of its obviousness but I think this patent is referring more to the actual process of secure delivery of digital media using a flash device rather than secure flash devices themselves.

I agree. They are emphasizing on the point of how secure delivery can be performed using a flash drive with a controller module and a central processing unit.

If I am not mistaken, the factory initialized data, comprised of a vendor identification string, product identification string, and manufacturer identification string, are to be held in a register and are used for device validation. It is unclear to me how this will work since registers are volatile memory.

Registers can be manufactured to hold and keep read only memory with out power.

How economically feasible and therefore useful will it be to have at least one local central processing unit and at least one register in a flash device? Central processing units and registers are much more expensive than flash memory.
