Does anyone have any thoughts on this patent and how it might relate to our current one?

David, could you just post the patent number or a shorter link, because this link is not working
Thanks!

I think this patent is unique and possibly worthwhile because it presents a software program to broker cds efficiently and easily. That the software program keeps track of lists of preferred/blocked banks, that it helps flow money into the appropriate CDs and that it uses algorithms to "reorganization of placement and ownership of deposits to achieve all system objectives" suggests there is something more important and intelligent in their system. The prior art I found consists of software programs that help people invest in CDs from various banks, but there is no method to track system objectives and work towards a goal as far as I can tell. Hence, I believe this application may have merit.

I agree with Rishi, I too have found many sites detailing brokered CD's but have not found anything regarding the software aforementioned

I agree with rishi as well. This seems to detail a software that would allow a single large investor to track and manage a portfolio of CD's easily.

additional thing i have issue with this application is it seems to be too broad in its scope. from my reading of this applications, it seems like would patent or cover any system that electronically manages a depositors investments across many investments.

I agree with William below me, i would like to see something describing the method or algorithm actually, as it stands it seems to general.
William Saunders (about 2 years ago)
I agree, but to that point I would like to read or see something describing possible interfaces or algorithms - besides the in depth descriptions of how the software would adhere to the limits and bounds of the task at hand - leave us to merely speculate at what is special about this "reorganization" towards the "system objectives".
Rishi Rawat (about 2 years ago)
While you are correct, the algorithms used to manage the CD investments were not explicitly described and more disclosure might be in order, one familiar with the art may note that if the problem is encoded as a "Constraint Satisifaction Problem" managing a list of constraints, or system objectives, may be a simple task.

I also agree with Bill based off reading the patent and what he posted up as well.

This application describes the already existing "brokered CD" as described by the U.S. Secuities and Exchange Commission here: http://www.sec.gov/investor/pubs/certific.htm
There is nothing unique or non-obvious about this application and should therefore be rejected.

Bill,
Please post this as prior art please! Thanks so much!
