My concern with this patent is that there are claims that state, in my interpretation, essentially, "Present a user interface to visually tweak set x and set y so that your algorithm comes closest to outputting the set z that you want." If this is essentially accurate, then there are a ton of user interfaces that intend to allow a user to multi-factor tune criteria the their desired result. Photoshop allows you to tune color balances where increasing one factor causes the others to change, and thus, one must harmonize the manipulation of the data set along multiple axis. Character creation tools for creating faces or terrain in virtual environments require this kind of balancing. Typically, this technique is applied to a problem domain. Here it appears the inventor wants to claim all user interfaces for all multi-factor balancing problems. That seems way too broad.Sheldon Linker (over 2 years ago)
It seems to me that claim 1 doesn't adequately define what an ensemble classifier is, or how to use it. I fear that if granted in this form, "ensemble classifier" will mean whatever the patent holder wants it to mean.Manny Schecter (over 2 years ago)
