A system for multi-selection gifting, comprising:a memory for storing a multi-selection gift, the multi-selection gift comprising (i) at least one gift recipient, (ii) a plurality of gift choices, each gift choice being either an individual item of merchandise or a group of items of merchandise, and (iii) a designated maximum number of gift choices that may be selected; and

a user interface for interactively guiding the gift recipient in selecting one or more of the plurality of gift choices, by maintaining a selection counter that informs that gift recipient as to whether the gift recipient's selection of gift choices have reached the designated maximum number, and by ensuring that the gift recipient's selection of gift choices does not exceed the designated maximum number of gift choices.
