A computer-readable storage medium storing program code for causing a computing device:to identify a multi-selection gift, the multi-selection gift comprising (i) a gift recipient, (ii) a plurality of gift choices, each gift choice being either an individual item of merchandise or a group of items of merchandise, and (iii) a designated maximum cost of gift choices that may be selected; and

to interactively guiding the gift recipient in selecting one or more of the plurality of gift choices without exceeding the designated maximum cost, by un-grouping a group of items in a gift choice into a plurality of individual items, and by re-grouping a plurality of items into a group, if the plurality of items were originally part of the same group in the multi-selection gift.
