The presentation 'Study on the Optimization of Charge-Discharge Cycle of Electric Vehicle Batteries in the Context of Singapore' by G. B. Shrestha (with the School of EEE, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore) and B. C. Chew from the publication: 2007 Australasian Universities Power Engineering Conference, AUPEC, December 9-12, 2007 was after the filing date of this application.
The presentation covers plug-in type electric and hybrid vehicles, and the idea of charging during off peak hours: 'It would be desirable to distribute the battery charging and discharging throughout the evening and night hours so that EV charging load will have the least adverse impact on the distribution system and the battery charging and discharging can be carried out with maximum benefit.'
Maybe someone knows of an earlier article or presentation that covers these ideas.
