A method in accordance with Claim 1 wherein:rejecting the said pipeline operation if there is a conflict within the pipeline with the said shared resource of the computer system employs a retry tag step allowing a rejected operation to subsequently get a higher priority on a subsequent retry attempt to avoid lock-out.
